Cardio Circuit

Getting it in.

Hey guys and Happy Tuesday! I hope your day has been off to a great start. My little one woke up with a tummy ache so I decided to keep him home. It seems to be that time of the year when that pesky school stomach bug makes its rounds. My kids dont get sick too often thankfully.

Fasted cardio outdoors was not goimg to happen today as I needed to tend to my baby. After getting him back to sleep, I pulled out one of my old cardio exercise routines that didnt require any gym equipment. I grabbed my mat, water, timer and went to work. 

About 5 minutes in and I was already working up a good sweat. My heart rate was right on target and I was well on my way to torching some serious calories. I can remember when my children were babies (infant/toddler age) I'd wait until they fall asleep to workout. If I couldn't get to the gym I would work out at home. 

I made no excuses when I probably could of made at least a dozen. My health was a top priority for me. It's always nice to have options outside the gym because quite frankly life will get in the way. There are a plethora of dvds, Youtube videos and fitness websites to snag a good workout routine from. 

The circuit I performed today is written out below. It can be done at anytime of the day. Make it work for your schedule and lifestyle. Enjoy!


(Pretend) Jump Rope 

Hip Thrust


Alternating lunges

Mountain Climbers

1 Minute Rest

Then Repeat 

Repeat circuit for a total of 45 minutes. 

That's not too bad is it? Lol! 

*When I say pretend jump rope thats exactly what I mean. Jump rope as if you were using an actual rope.*


I followed up with a light breakfast of 5 egg whites, 2 slices of wheat toast and 1 cup of berries. I plan to workout my upper body later in the day using my hand weights and resistance bands. Remember no excuses. Be blessed!
