Slave to the Scale

Lies Lies Lies. 

Warning ladies your scale will lie to you! I know firsthand how exciting it can be once you begin to lose weight; however, speaking from experience please, please, please (James Brown voice) do not fall in love with your number. It may not be as trustworthy as you think! In fact, it more than likely will drive you batty and pose a serious threat to your ever growing confidence. Especially if the number you're calling for isn't answering back when you step on that scale.

Instead of crushing over lost pounds, put more emphasis on how your body is feeling and responding. For example, do your muscles feel stronger today then they did two weeks ago? Have you been experiencing a consistent increase in energy? Are your clothes beginning to fit more comfortably? All of these questions are more practical and psychologically more positive measurable than developing a love affair with weight loss.

I can attest to this because in the past I would put so much emphasis on the number. Not knowing I was dropping inches and changing my overall body composition. The scale doesn't always determine this. The goal is good health and if you're watching your diet, exercising and taking care of your mental health everything will fall in to place as you so desire.
