Weekend Recap: Paddington, Christmas shopping, and Naan.

I hope you all had a great weekend. I was definitely busy with last minute shopping, decorating and shipping off gifts. Christmas really has come fast this year. Which makes time seem even more precious as it goes by so quickly. I haven't stressed myself out too much this year. I made a promise this season to be in the moment, enjoy myself, and not sweat the small stuff. So far so good.

We rented and watched Paddington over breakfast Saturday morning. I thought it was pretty cute movie. My youngest wasn't too interested as he snuck off to his room to draw and play. lol. He likes what he likes.

I decided to brave the weekend Christmas crowd to do a little shopping at Target and Toys R Us. I can window shop in Target for hours and not get bored. There is always something that catches my eyes. It wasn't too crowded in there thankfully. I tried on a few tops and end up purchasing this cute Coca Cola t-shirt and a few stocking stuffers.

Cute right? :)

I can't wait to rock this when the weather is warm. I guess I could rock it now since it's been ridiculously hot for December.

Toys R Us was packed which made it uncomfortable for shopping. The aisles were entirely too small to fit shopping carts, strollers, or even a carry and go basket. I felt myself getting frustrated quickly and decided to leave after browsing a few areas.

Isn't he cute? lol. It's Frankin the only little brown boy from Charlie Brown. He wasn't in all the specials that aired, but it was nice to see him from time to time. I had to pick him up for a collectors item. I remember enjoying the Charlie Brown Holiday specials when I was a little girl. Ah, childhood memories. We recently took the boys to see The Peanuts Movie. We all enjoyed it and I was happy they kept it authentic to the original version.

Naan + Gouda = YUMMY goodness!

I made Hubby an open face naan philly cheese steak sandwich for lunch. I love naan and I usually use the regular size they sell for making personal size pizzas. Click here for that recipe. I found these mini Naans at my local Publix grocery store, but I've also seen them in Wal-Mart. You can pop them in the toaster for quick heating.

I sautéed onions and green peppers in a pan with olive oil and set them aside. To that same pan I added sliced beef and browned it until done. Next, I assembled the sandwich with the meat first, a slice of gouda cheese and topped it with the peppers and onions. It was delicious! The possible combinations are endless with this bread. A must try.

Evening treat.

I made a root bear float with the remaining ice cream I had from Friday night. This is the only way I will drink root beer. I'm not a big fan of the taste, but with ice cream its so good.

Brunch(not the prettiest picture).

Multi-grain raspberry pancakes for Sunday brunch. They came out pretty good.

Casual Comfort.

I don't know about you all, but I like to be comfortable when I do any kind of shopping. I chose skinny jeans, tank top with cardigan, and my ugg boots to run around in for a few hours. This time I went to the mall to see if there were any good deals. I found a cute boyfriend fitted flannel from American Eagle Outfitters that I plan to wear Christmas day and some holiday inspired pajama pants at Aeropostale.

This Holiday jumper from Aeropostale was so cute, but just not practical for wearing around the house Christmas morning. I know my rear would have hiked it up to inappropriate proportions my boys wouldn't have appreciated (although Hubby wouldn't have minded, lol), so I opted for these cute joggers instead.

We ended the evening watching Sunday night football. Fun times!

How was your weekend? Are you finished Christmas shopping?
