Beat Your Fear of the Weight Room

My top 5 tips on how to get over your fear of the weight room:

1. Have a plan/routine written out. Know what body parts you plan to work for that day. Pick 2 to 3 exercise moves for those muscle groups. Perform between 3 to 4 sets of 8 to 12 repetitions for starters.

2. Use correct form. Remember there is no race to lift heavy. Executing proper form is far more important then lifting heavy weight. It will help you avoid injury and gain better results.

3. Don't compare yourself to others in the gym. It's okay to be inspired by what others are doing, but remember we are all on different fitness levels. We all have different goals and what so and so is doing may not be the best for you.

4. Research. There are countless amounts of books, how to pictorials, videos, etc. You can also seek out a personal trainer who will customize a routine suitable for your needs as well as show you how to properly use equipment.

5. Have fun! Don't make it harder then it has to be for you.

  1. Do you buy pre-cooked shrimp or fresh?

  2. Hello hun, sorry for the late response. I buy fresh, but you can used precooked. :)

Thank you for taking the time to comment. Blessings!
