Music Makes My Workout Go Round (Part II)

Physical fatigue during exercise is inevitable. If you workout with any level of consistent intensity your body will grow tired.  Knowing this information has the ability to influence one’s desire to begin, complete, and/or successfully execute an entire workout session. It wears on the mental, which defeats the body long before the workout has even begun, and when your body has been defeated your mind has a unique way of inviting the following statements: “Just give up already!” “You know you want to quit!” “It hurts so bad doesn’t it?” “Why are you working out anyway?”

As I’ve stated in a previous post, music provides me with a defense and distinct advantage against such said statements! I utilize it as a central focus point to block out the negative self-talk physical fatigue transmits to my brain. My latest playlist is titled “Stayin’ Alive,” and it includes a few of my favorite hits the biggest artists in music history:
