Upper-Body Workout + Lunch

I’ve always heard the cliché “The early bird catches the worm,” and this Mockingbird was blessed to awake 5:30 am this morning to start my fitness goal for the week; which is to incorporate yoga into my daily routine. I have a beginners yoga DVD, which includes a 20 minute am and pm workout. I felt refreshed and relaxed after my initial session was completed. Following yoga, I ate 1/2 of a grapefruit with eight ounces of water, and proceeded to get my boys and myself ready for the day.

While the boys opted for cold cereal, I choose 1/3 cup rolled oats with cinnamon, nutmeg, and raisins. I also enjoyed two scrambled eggs and one turkey sausage on the side. I was fueled and prepared to tackle my workout.

I went into the lab to perform 45 minutes cardio on the treadmill. It was a calorie torching routine that I created and will be showing you all very soon. After completing cardio, I linked up with my gym buddy for an hour of chest, triceps, and abs. Listed below is few of the moves from my routine. Click on the move for a demonstration.

Bench Press - 4 sets of 12 using a straight barbell

Chest Flye - 4 sets of 15 on a stability ball using dumbbells

Tricep Dips - 4 sets of 10 unassisted using just my body weight ( I was super proud of myself for pumping out 10). My goal is to be able to execute about 12 to 15.

Tricep Rope Pulldown - 4 sets of 12

After burning 1281 calories, I needed to fuel my body! I went with skinless rotisserie chicken breast, 1 cup of spinach, and 1/2 cup of pineapple.

  2. I know it won't happen over night, however I am worried if I would need to get liposuction/tummy-tuck in able for my abs to show definition. I have a pouch that I been trying to get rid off for the longest. (all though I give up most of the time because of my lack of patience). But after seeing your results and hard work I know it can be done. For instance the participants on the Biggest Loser, even with excercise and change in food intake, they always need surgery.
