Leg Day + Breakfast

I always attempt to get a “leg up” on my competition, whether it’s the methods in which I train, the contents of my daily diet, or in the process of how I rest and recuperate. Fortunately for me, I’m only in competition with myself, and reap all the benefits and rewards from my own internal rivalry. Meaning as long as I’m working twice as hard as I worked yesterday, the effort I’m putting in today toward beating myself tomorrow will produce championship results.

It may sound confusing, but it’s logical nonetheless! No one can push me as hard as I push myself, so in order to push myself to my absolute physical limits I have to out work my last ditch effort. Feel free to checkout below how I beat yesterday today!

Breakfast was made up of a BLT with 2 egg whites, topped with a thin slice provolone cheese, and center cut bacon. On the side I enjoyed 1/3 cup of oatmeal and a small kiwi. This meal provided me the necessary mix of carbs and protein to get through my grueling workout.

Lunges from DigitalCurls on Vimeo.

In this video, I'm performing walking lunges with dumbbell pass-thoughs (L) and curtsy lunges (R).

Curtsy Lunge

Stand with your feet hip-width apart, hands on your hips. Take a big step back with your left leg, crossing it behind your right. Bend your knees and lower your hips until your right thigh is nearly parallel to the floor (shown). Keep your torso upright and your hips and shoulders as square as possible. Return to start. Perform 10 reps and repeat, stepping back with your right leg. Add dumbbells once you master the movement with perfect form. {source}
