Song of the Day: June 15, 2012

In order to forgive we must open our hearts to those who have hurt us the most. Whether it's your spouse, your child, your father, your mother, your sister, your brother, a relative, a friend, or even a complete stranger, being willing to forgive surrenders your heart over to God's mercy and grace. It’s difficult to be slow to anger when your spirit has been tested; however, holding a grudge doesn't heal like the warmth of a hug. Remember, it is not the individual but the enemy working through the individual who's attempting turn your spirit away from God. Be careful not to act with haste, to act on instinct, or to act with a carnal mind! God is an awesome God, and He works miracles through healing. Allow God to work a miracle in your life through forgiveness. Don't allow your heart to become hard by building walls of insecurity. Instead be secure in your faith, and He'll provide you with the strength to withstand every test. You may feel as if you're losing, but the war has already been won!

Nehemiah 9:17 They refused to listen and failed to remember the miracles you performed among them. They became stiff-necked and in their rebellion appointed a leader in order to return to their slavery. But you are a forgiving God, gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love. Therefore you did not desert them,

Romans 8:15 For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, "Abba, Father."

James 1:19 My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry,
