Length Check

2 years and 6 months worth of growth (before I trimmed)

I straightened my hair a week ago so I could give myself a good trim. The pictures I took aren't the best quality, but you can see my hair has grown. The last time straightened it was back in September.

I started out by washing my hair with my favorite Terressentials Mud Wash, applied my leave in conditioner and braided it up in four sections to let it air dry over night. The next day, I took the braids down, applied some Chi oil to each section and then flat ironed my hair on medium high heat. I didn't use a blow dryer nor did I flat iron it bone straight. I decided to try the bantu-knot out again, but I didn't like the way it came out this time so opted to wear it in a high bun. I believe I used too much product (Shea Moistures Curl Enhancing Smoothie) because it felt weighed down. Click here to see my bantu-knot out from September for comparison.

  1. Its still alot better than my bantu knot out. I ended up doing a cinnabun by the end.

  3. Thanks ladies! @MrsWardy, I still haven't tried the knot out on my natural curly hair. I'm curious to see how that would turn out.
