Tales From A Recovering Product Junkie

Source

I've finally narrowed down my product staples, and this is coming from a serious product junkie! If you're newly natural, you're literally pulled left and right when it comes to selecting hair products. Coming into my second year of naturality, I focused specifically on what type of ingredients hair products contained. The packaging may be pretty, but the product itself may be disastrous. I've learned this firsthand through trial and error! Remember, what may work for one person, may not work for another. Always remain flexible, patient, and most importantly informed.

My Staples

  • Shampoo - Terressentials Lavender Garden Wash although it tends to be a little messy it has been the only shampoo that has not stripped my hair during the washing process. It defines and adds shine to my curls.
  • Conditioner - Giovanni Smooth As Silk Deeper Moisture Conditioner. I use this after washing my hair and for deep conditioning treatments.
  • I make my own leave in conditioner using a store bought leave in, aloe vera juice, castor oil and jojoba oil.
  • Eco Styler Gel with Olive Oil ( I use this to tame my edges).
  • My favorite oils to use are castor oil, jojoba oil, and sweet almond oil.
  • Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie (I use this for my twist and twist outs) This makes my hair soft and fluffy.

These are the only products I'm currently using.

What are your staple products?
