Fitness Minute: All about the Glutes

Do you have rear envy? Being African American women, stereotypes tend to suggest we all have big butts. Our culture has glorified this to be true. Well, I'm here to tell you, not all of us are blessed in that department. I remember being in high school and wishing I could fill out my jeans. I would wear several pairs of tights under my jeans to make my butt appear bigger. Sad, but true! After having kids and putting on weight, needless to say I've developed a booty. I am on a mission to make sure I keep it lifted and toned. Yes, I like a firm backside! Here are 6 sure fire ways to give your gluteus a nice lift.

1.             Squats
2.             Lunges
3.             Bridges
4.             Step-ups
5.             Leg/Hip extensions
6.             Skater Plyos
